Steve Schoonover graduated from Ohio University in 1967 with a BFA in Communications for Organizations and received his Juris Doctor from Creighton University in 1972 and served in the United States Army Reserve as a JAG Officer until 1974. He is currently a member of the Texas Bar.
Currently, Steve is founder and serves as President and CEO of Module X Solutions, LLC, a company providing modular solutions to telecommunications, renewable energy, solar, oil & gas, petrochemical refineries and government sectors. He is a partner and serves as CEO of Mobile Grid, a modular solar integrated design build company based in Houston, TX and is manager of Schoonover Investments, LP an investment firm located in Shreveport, LA.
In 1983, Steve was co-founder and served as President and CEO of Fibrebond Corporation, a construction firm involved in cellular telecommunications buildings, site development and tower construction. He was a co-founder and served as President of Blue Ridge Cellular, Inc. until its sale in 1997 to Telephone Data Systems, Inc., a full-service cellular telephone company. In 1997, Steve founded and served as President and CEO of Cellxion, LLC, who specialized in the construction of telecommunication buildings, towers and the installation of high-tech telecommunication equipment. In 1998, he was elected to the Board of Directors of USLEC, a Windstream company, where he served as Chairman of the Audit Committee. Steve sold Cellxion in 2007, and continued to serve as a consultant and as a member of the Board of Directors of Sabre Industries until 2011. In 2005, he was elected to the Board of Directors of Contango Oil and Gas and served as the Compensation Committee Chairman. Since the 2011 merger with Crimson Oil & Gas, Steve currently serves as a Director and a member of the Audit Committee.
On two occasions with two different companies Steve won Entrepreneur of the Year Award which was sponsored by Ernst & Young, Inc. and USA Today. He also won the Small Business Person of the Year Award in 2005 from the City of Bossier City. Steve is most proud of The Citizens Recognition Award, the highest honor bestowed on a citizen, presented to him by the Bossier City Fire Department for helping to save a life. While he owned Cellxion, the company won the Louisiana Lantern Award and was one of the Top 100 Companies of Shreveport/Bossier.
